Get the Word Out

Cinderella: What girl wouldn't want to be Cinderella for the evening? Decorations could include slippers and painted pumpkins.

Big Band: Big band can not only be the theme for the event, but will also give your DJ or Band a clear indication of the music they should play. Decorations could include pictures of the best 40's and 50's jazz musicians.

A Night in Paris: What could be more romantic than setting a prom in the city of love? Prom decorations could include a scale model of the Eiffel tower, French poodles or French fries.

Mardi Gras: Mardi Gras also incorporates masquerade possibilities. You can include plastic beads in your party favors.

Black and White Ball: If you choose to hold a black and white ball, you should give the prom goers ample warning. Many women buy their prom dresses in advance, so choosing to hold a black and white ball would limit their choice of dress. The color scheme for the decorations is simple and relatively inexpensive.

1970's: Students could shop for their prom outfits in vintage stores and save a lot of money! One advantage of creating a 70's atmosphere during the prom is the creative license to use a lot of bright, psychedelic colors.

Broadway: What other theme could incorporate the lights of the big city and your favorite musicals? If your school has an active drama club, you may be able to score some free decorations.

Casino Night: A casino prom theme can incorporate poke chip decorations and you could employ a few Las Vegas themes. If you wanted to, you could have a couple of table games available during the cocktail hour.
