About Us

Prom Time's History

Prom Time's History When we first decided to launch Prom Time, our goal in January 2001 was to create a one-stop, internet resource for prom-going students. The company was started by Doron Pergament, in his freshman year of college. Mr. Pergament hosted his first after prom party at a Chinese restaurant named Lucky's charging only $25 per person 16 years ago. With only 3,800 tickets sold his first year of operation, Mr. Pergaments after prom company was heading for success. As the world was becoming a more internet computer savvy place, Promtime.com started to grow in clientele Studies show that over half of the three million teens attending prom in 2006, will use internet to do their shopping, and we wanted to give them a convenient place to find the best deals on the trendiest products and services. After some careful research of our own, we determined that Prom Time had greater potential than we had initially imagined.

Our dynamic website would not only be easy to use, listing everything from limousine companies, florists, restaurants, nightclubs, dress shops, and tuxedo rental stores, it could help promote safety and smart choices on prom night. With over 25,000 tickets sold in 2006, promtime.com is the number one venue that most high school seniors go to when dealing with prom. As we began to build the Prom Time network of business, we developed relationships with nightclubs such as, Sound Factory, Limelight, Carbon, Exit, Roxy, Club Speed, Club Shelter, Copacabana, Avalon, Webster Hall, Duvet, Gypsy Tea, Eugene, The Villa, Remix, Eden, The Madison, Columbus 72, LQ (Latin Quarter), New York Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club, Comic Strip Live, Strata, and the Supper Club in New York City. These establishments proposed safe, elegant, and alcohol-free locations for after prom parties in the New York City area. We immediately felt this was a great idea, and were not surprised to see a strong response from both students and Prom Time vendors alike. Promtime.com' alcohol free after prom parties are now being promoted through limousine companies, florists, and gown rental shops.

At Prom Time, we would like to invite members to visit the website and discuss how we can all keep teens safe on prom night. Without an established facility that features a secure environment, students might otherwise visit a location where alcohol is served, and could feasibly be exposed to dangerous substances. The Comic Strip Live, another venue that we have great relations with, will be strictly supervising students to ensure that no such activities are permitted. If you are interested, package deals and group discounts are available for your school. For more information about Prom Time and how we can help make your students special night safer, more elegant and less expensive, please visit our website at www.promtime.com. While you are there, take a moment to fill out our high school questionnaire to qualify for more specials, including school wide discounts, from some of our participating vendor companies.
